The Top 10 Events Happening on 4/20

There are hundreds of events taking place during the 4/20 weekend. Here are the Top 10 events happening on Friday, April 20:

1. 420 Hippie Hill

Location: Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA

Cost: free

Description: This gathering in the park has been occurring annually for the last four decades. Sharon Meadows (a.k.a. Hippie Hill) is located near Kezar Dr. and 3rd Ave.

2. Mile High 420 Festival

Location: Civic Center Park, Denver, CO

Cost: free

Performers: Lil Wayne, Lil Jon, the Original Wailers, Inner Circle, Whitewater Ramble and more

Description: Denver’s main 4/20 event, presented by Euflora, takes place in the heart of downtown. The lineup features mostly hip-hop and reggae acts.

3. National Cannabis Festival Policy Summit

Location: Annenberg Theater at the Newseum, Washington, DC

Cost: free

Description: A full day of panel discussions and keynotes, including Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), DC Attorney General Karl Racine and Ben Jealous. The next day, the National Cannabis Festival, featuring Cypress Hill, will take place at RFK Stadium.

4. Sweetwater 420 Fest

Location: Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta, GA

Cost: $66-$138

Performers: The String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Sturgill Simpson, Joe Russo’a Almost Dead, the Motet and more

Description: This weekend jamband event runs from 4/20-4/22. Try Sweetwater’s famous 420 beer while you’re there.

5. Snoop Dogg’s 420 Wellness Retreat

Location: Fiddlers Green Amphitheatre, Englewood, CO

Cost: $59-$331

Performers: Snoop Dogg, Migos, Lil Pump, Rob Stoner and Tiara Thomas

Description: This 5 pm show is the continuation of Snoop’s Wellness concerts in Colorado on 4/20. The next day, he takes the retreat to Showare Center in Kent, WA.

6. High Times Cannabis Cup SoCal 2018

Location: NOS Event Center, San Bernardino, CA

Cost: $60-$420

Performers: Nas, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Fabolous, Yo Gotti and Rich the Kid

Description: High Times returns to its favorite Cup location for a three-day event from 4/20-4/22.

NEWS ALERT:  On 4/19, the San Bernardino City Council voted 6-0 to deny High Times approval to have the event. At issue is on-site marijuana sales and consumption.

7. 420 Toronto 2018

Location: Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto, ON

Cost: free

Description: This block party (from 10 am-7 pm) attracts thousands of revelers each year.

8. Super Troopers 2

Locations: in theaters everywhere

Cost: $8-$15

Description: The sequel to 2001’s Super Troopers is being released by a major film company, Fox Searchlight, on 4/20. The stony Vermont cops are back, but his time rather than chase pot smugglers, they stir up a border war with Canada.

9. 420 Vancouver Protest + Farmers’ Market

Location: Sunset Cove Beach, Vancouver, BC

Cost: free

Performers: E-40, Brevner and more

Description: Now in its 24th year (and its third at Sunset Cove Beach), this event continues to have issues with the city, which opposes it, but still allows the the event to go on. That’s why it’s also called a protest.

10. 420 on the Block

Location: Fox Street Compound, Denver, CO

Cost: $25-$175

Performers: Action Bronson, Matisyahu, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe and more

Description: This three-day block party, from 4/20-4/22, features a solid lineup of national and local acts.
